Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel – THEY EMPTY YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS!
We stayed in several hotels in Hawaii for three weeks and were very happy with our vacation overall. We chose this hotel for the final days of our trip so that our children could simply enjoy swimming and playing on the sandy beach. We are stayed at this hotel from October 19–23,
We paid for our stay with two separate bankcards, mine and my husband’s. When we checked out, we were told everything was fine and received a printed copy of the final bill. In the following days, something suspicious started happening: Courtyard Kona Beach Marriott began charging our cards repeatedly, taking various amounts. On my account alone, 19 separate transactions were attempted — random sums like €549, €541, €248, €836, and others.
Together, from our two accounts, we lost several thousand euros before realizing what was happening.
After 36 hours and three flights home, we discovered that our accounts had been emptied. We immediately contacted our bank to block the cards.
We have been trying to reach Marriott for a week, but they ignore our emails and have not refunded our money.
We travel frequently around the world and usually choose high-end, reputable hotels — but this is the first time ever that a supposedly trusted brand like Marriott has stolen from us our card data.
⚠️ If you don’t want to face the same nightmare, do NOT use your bank card at this hotel!
