Our stay at Ergüvan Hotel was excellent, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable yet quality stay in the heart of Istanbul. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating - we had our luggage carried up to our room, and we got to choose between a modern hotel room, or a more traditional, Ottoman style room. We went with the Ottoman style room for the atmosphere, and we were not disappointed with our choice. Our room was stylishly furnished and large, and the view of the hippodrome from our window certainly added to the atmosphere. There are plenty of restaurants and amenities around the location, and the hotel is located just down the hill from the obelisks located behind the Sultanahmet Mosque (perfect, assuming you don't mind a 3-5 minute walk up a rather steep hill to get there).
