The staff were so nice, the room was great, and the facilities were nice! The kelp on the beach was a bummer but other than that the beach was beautiful and perfect. We were bummed that there was no windsurfing as advertised and that there was basically no snorkeling (we could use the snorkels but were told there was nothing to see because there were no good snorkeling areas nearby).

We had a great vacation at the Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar. The hotel grounds is lovely with lots of wildlife including beautiful peacocks. The beach was picturesque and very clean as well as safe although the waves were a bit rough. But it was fun. There were many different options of places to eat and the most of the food was great.

We loved seeing peacocks, black and white swans, flamingos, and even chameleons roaming freely—it made the atmosphere even more special. The only downside was the drinks, which could have been better, but everything else more than made up for it. Overall, a great experience, and we would definitely return!

So So

Check in was relatively easy, staff was friendly, but that was the end of their friendliness. Room was so-so, seemed old. Air Conditioning never seemed to cool the room and the ceiling fan was a slow pace with no way to change it. Humidity was an issue but expected. Staff did not let you know that restaurants were closed and the app and map that were provided did not represent anything correctly. If I were to go back I would choose a different resort that is on the same property.

The property is huge so to get from your room to go eat or get to the beach/pools take a longgg walk or you have to wait for transportation. The Buffett was the same every day except 1 and was not that great. The “no reservation needed” diner took 1.5 hours to get into. It wasn’t a horrible stay, but definitely not the best either. I wouldn’t purposely go back.

The wildlife was so entertaining. Flamingos, Swan, peacocks, quadi... staff was very friendly and accommodating. They all speak good English. Impressed by the resort.

I liked fresh food/cooking/fish. I liked living around animals on the property. I liked that the hotel used eco cleaning products. If any problem aroused, such as full sink of water, it was quickly resolved.

The staff and facilities were fantastic. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was wonderful with easy access to the water. Waves and water temperature were perfect. Unfortunately the "mini" bar in the room was only stocked with 2 beer- no other alcohol was supplied in the room. It was difficult to get a lounge chair at the beach unless you went down at 7:30 am to settle in for the day. Leaving your things on the lounges to reserve for later in the day was frowned upon.

our stay at Del Mar was great, lots of activities for young and older. Beach was nice except for the seaweed. Food was awesome at the buffet but I felt the Italian and Mexican restaurants were mediocre. Everyone was super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Our only complaint was the beds were very uncomfortable..too hard. The last 2 nights I slept on the couch

Pro: Hard working staff. Con: Staff is overworked, especially at pool bars and the Mexican Restaurant. Pro: Family room was nice, great for my family and two teens. Con: Beach is very small, believe the reviews!! They do a great job of managing seaweed but its very small, and reserving seats IS NO JOKE! I had to get up at 7 to get 4 seats. Con: Pool is just as bad, reserve seating is SERIOUS here..I realize I visited in July but the water is warm, almost hot. Felt like a hot tub. Con: If you expect a waiter or waitress to stop by your pool or beach chair and take your drinks, LOOK elsewhere. I have been to other resorts and its a common thing, YOU GET UP AND GO TO THE BAR for your drinks here.. Con: Mexican restaurant was the biggest disappointment. short staffed, waited over an hour to be seated and over 35 minutes to receive food. Other: The buffets were average, nothing special here. The resort is BIG, with them using a major paved "sidewalk" for golf carts to pick up and drop you off. Lots of walking. Again, I am not a picky person and have visited many resorts, this Iberostar was a disappointment, and will not return. Did I mention how overworked the staff is? The women and the bar and restaurants should be applauded.

We went with a group of 4 girls for my 40th Birthday, we had an absolutely excellent time and enjoyed very single minute. Special shout out to our favourite waiter, bartender and driver, Francisco, Alejandro and Ramiro for the excellent service
