"I’m so glad I picked this hotel for my first visit to Cuenca. It’s got a great location in the historic part of town. The staff was wonderful from check-in, assisting with activities/cabs, room service, and meals. The included breakfast offered so many custom choices. I would definitely return to this property and highly recommend it."
"This is a hidden jewel in colonial Cuenca. Clean and comfortable room, wonderful and helpful staff and a location that is close to shops, restaurants and the famous Cuenca Cathedral."
"Old world charm in the historic center. Excellent coffee in the room and a chocolate on the bed each evening. Also a great buffet breakfast with local fresh fruit. High end l'Occitane bath products. This hotel pays attention to detail and we felt well cared for. Cuenca flows with mountain springs but we advise drinking only bottled water. A wonderful place to stay!"
"I did like the excellent service, the rooms are nice, comfortable, and very clean.
Delicious food, and the hotel is located right in the heart of Cuenca.
Will be back.
Thank you.
Marcelo Duran.

"This has been one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel in the 40+ years of traveling. It is a very quaint hotel in the historic district of Cuenca. The beauty and charm jumps out at you as soon as you walk thru the doors. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. "
"The hotel is in the middle of downtown. Surrounded by restaurants and sights of the city. The location and price were ideal. The place even had a jacuzzi and pool. The price was so reasonable. The place is old and has a charming beautiful rustic look. "
"Amazing place to stay. The staff is really accommodating and friendly. They will try to go out of their way to help you. Stayed in the Jr. Suite, which was spacious and cleaned daily by the staff. There’s two restaurants on site, which offer great food. The included breakfast has many options "

My husband and I so enjoyed our three night stay here over Easter. Everything was superb, and I can't recommend it enough.
We had dinner in the hotel on the first night, and the food and service were so good, we weren't tempted to have dinner anywhere else. Choose a table in the conservatory, which is like dining in a jewel box. I highly recommend the strawberry "carpaccio" served with basil ice cream. Beautiful, clever and very tasty!
I stayed in the panoramic apartment with amazing views of old town Cuenca. Great location. One block to Parque Calderon. Tia store across the street and bakery downstairs. Very cozy and clean unit. I’ll definitely stay here again. All the staff was lovely.
Great place, very good location , excellent breakfast but what made the difference was the people that work at the hotel : they make you feel at home and that is priceless.
I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and had a wonderful time with my daughter. The place is beautiful, just like the pics. I loved the balcony (even though I didn’t enjoy it because we were always out, it was nice to have). The location was perfect. You can walk to historic district, local market, the park. The best part was having a washer/dryer. I love being able to come home with clean clothes.
The property is in a prime location everything is close the customer service is top notch, John from the restaurant along with the rest of the staff were excellent if something went wrong they were there right away, Steven is a super star and made our stay fantastic, yes there are noises due to the churches bells and other activities, you don’t need a rental unless you are traveling far everything is very walkable, the hotel is just excellent if the hotel adds a microwave and a mini fridge that...
The staff was so friendly, the location was unbeatable, and the foods at the restaurants were amazing. The noise from the construction outside and from the restaurants above and below were a bit loud at times, but otherwise it was the perfect stay.
We have visited Cuenca several times and always stay in the historic district. This is the best hotel ever. It is beautiful and the staff was more than helpful. It has a beautiful dinning room and the breakfasts were very good--and included in the price of the room. We look forward to going back!
Having spent a week here I grew to appreciate all the little things that added to the comfort of my stay. Family owned and run, the level of service was both personal and top shelf. I have traveled the world and don't stop to spend time reviewing one corporate run hotel over another but here I am happy to spread the good word for this lovely family and boutique hotel. Classic colonial hotel steps to the historic district, we regretted leaving.
Staff made check in easy. Pool and jacuzzi were cleaned daily. A convenient walk to the center of town. Room was cleaned daily and showers worked perfectly and an awesome view from anywhere in the hotel.
This was my first visit to Cuenca, and I absolutely loved the city. Hotel Azul de la Plaza was an excellent base to explore the Centro Historico. The room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and above all, very comfortable. The location really cannot be beat, the price was more than reasonable, and there was parking available in a secure lot. When I come back to Cuenca, I will absolutely stay here again.
We enjoy staying at this hotel! I gave it five stars! The suite was clean, I email the hotel and asked for extra towels before arriving, they came through! Concierge were very attentive, breakfast the next morning was delicious!! Overall we had a great experience! 😊
Hotel Casa San Rafael is a beautiful place to stay in downtown Cuenca.
Mostly original architecture inside.
The staff was awesome. Very friendly and helpful.
Pricing was very reasonable.
I stayed 2 nights with my family, it’s very clean and the staff was very friendly the food at the restaurant was amazing,it is a new hotel very close to everything, thank you very much
We thought this hotel was very charming and comfortable. It had a great deal of character, and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was easy to walk around the city from this location or get a taxi. As we were leaving, there were no empty taxis any where and we needed to be at the bus station; two staff members came outside to help us flag down an empty taxi to get us off on time. The breakfast was tasty; the only thing was that people seemed to eat quite early and by 8:30 when we got...
