When you can't wait to soak up some sun, head to Mondello Beach— one of the most popular seaside spots in the heart of Mondello. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Isola Delle Femmine Beach and Spiaggia di Vergine Maria.
You can stroll along Palermo Harbour for relaxing water views when you're in Borgo Vecchio. If you carry on walking you'll get to Molo Trapezoidale, Palermo Cruise Terminal, and La Cala for some more water views.
If you want to see one of the top sights in central Scopello, head to Tonnara of Scopello. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here?
If you want to see a show while you're in town, try and grab some tickets at Teatro Massimo in Palermo Historical Center. If you enjoy the show and want to see another, Politeama Garibaldi Theater, Biondo Stabile Theater, and Bellini Theater are all a short walk away.
"Excellent location, very convinent for tourists. Hotel is nice and clean, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Only negative is room is small but probably is normal in Europe, and bathroom not modern."
"Absolutely fantastic hotel with incredible views. We have stayed here before and will stay here again - a perfect base of serenity above the wonderful madness of Palermo!"
"We were encouraged by a tour guide to book a multi-star resort hotel in the Center of Siracusa. But, our research persuaded us that a boutique hotel on the Island of Ortigia was more in line with our standards and preferences. The Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel both met and exceeded our expectations. Everything, including the Center of Siracusa was within walking distance. The morning breakfast was convenient and ample. The bar was a nice place for a nightcap and the whisky selection was excellent. Our Junior Suite was very comfortable with quiet and great air conditioning. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to enjoy the terrace and views that were connected to our room."
"A good choice for Palermo.
We stayed in a Superior Double for 2 nights and enjoyed it. The hotel was very well located for walking around Palermo and the room was clean and everything in it worked well.
The parking facility also worked well – we pulled up outside the hotel (it was easy to avoid the restricted ZTL areas), unpacked our bags and gave our key to the receptionist. Checkout was equally smooth and our car pulled up outside within a few minutes of our request). The parking charge was 23 euros per night but it worked well.
We didn’t use the restaurant although we did visit it with the aim of having a drink – we were met with “do you have a reservation as we only have 30 covers”. We were shown a seat but we left before ordering our drink because of the slightly clumsy welcome (I think it was the manager at the time who spoke to us so no reflection on the other hotel staff who were very friendly). It may have just been a translation issue and wouldn’t stop me staying here but reviews are for feedback and if it is just for a drink we would go elsewhere.
We did have breakfast in the breakfast room both days and that was good (although they seemed a bit short staffed and therefore slightly rushed they worked hard to keep people happy). There was a decent selection of food and at a decent quality too.
We would stay again and the only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that we had better stays on our Sicily trip and have judged this accordingly."
"Emplacement parfait. Très calme. Très propre. Ambiance familiale.Proximité de tout les services. Navette vers taormina super simple et transport en commun également !"
