"Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. Several advertised facilities, including the rooftop lounge/terrace, gym, and laundry, were unavailable due to refurbishment works, yet we were not informed before arrival. The room windows were not double glazed, so noise from the busy road was constant, and there was also a strong unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drains.
The WiFi was switched off during the evening while updates were carried out, which caused problems as we needed to work from our room. The restaurant experience was also poor, with one of the worst meals we have had despite the restaurant being almost empty.
Although the room was advertised as an aparthotel studio with a kitchenette, no utensils, plates, or cutlery were provided apart from a kettle. We were also surprised that no alcohol was served at the hotel, something that should be clearly stated in the advertisement for international travellers.
Finally, communication was difficult at times as very few staff outside reception spoke English. Overall, we felt the hotel was not geared towards international or Western guests, and we would not have booked had the listing been more transparent. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this hotel to international travellers."
"The room is very spacious and clean with separate toilet and shower area. The carpark is free with wide entrance and parking lots are plentiful. The balcony view is picturesque. However there is room for improvement on breakfast selection. Also the quality and taste can be better. Credit is due for polite and helpful staff. Location is good right in the centre of Tanah Ratah. The hotel is recommended for those staying in Cameron Highlands."
"The property is very nice and we enjoyed it. However, the parking situation was not pleasant. We were instructed to use the Touch N Go card. We made a mistake of scanning the card after we exited the parking lot not before we exited the parking lot. We didn't realized we made the error on the day we checked out. The staff told us that there is no way to redeem the error. This is just bad business practice. It is not the extra monies that bothered us. It is the principal. We made a honest mistake. We find it unacceptable that the error was not redeemable at all. Given that the Hyatt brand is a global brand and we've stayed at many Hyatt's, the inflexibility put a sour taste to our trip.
The second experience that we did not like was the payment for the breakfast. We were explained that the breakfast costs more if we were to pay at the restaurant counter as opposed to paying it at the reception area. We were not informed that there is not an option to pay at the reception the next day if we decide to eat at the hotel for breakfast. The only option available was to pay at the hotel restaurant. As a result, we ended up paying an additional $13 ringgit per person. Again, this is not about the additional $13 ringgit since this is not a lot when we convert into our home country currency. It is the lack of information.
During our trip, we've stayed at Le Meridien and Angsana. We didn't have issues with these two hotels. Both are of the same level as the Hyatt. "
"Beautiful hotel with friendly helpful staff, especially Mark who showed us around the hotel at check in. Lovely welcome drink offered at check in also. Gym looked great but only had one night stay and didn’t use it, the pool area was lovely and relaxing. Rooms were clean and bed was huge and super comfortable. Day spa looked nice but didn’t use.
The food was a bit average at the restaurant down stairs and think they could add a few cocktails to the drinks list to have round the pool. Other than that enjoyable stay."
