"After our stay here the Inercity Hotel in Hamburg is one we would avoid in future. The check in area looks more like the reception for an office block and compares poorly to most of the hotels we've stayed in. They advertise a free local travel card which, when I stayed at another InterCity in a different place, was an actual card. This time I was informed that a QR code needed to be scanned and the hotel's loyalty scheme joined - at which point I gave up as I had no inclination to join the loyalty scheme or mess about trying to scan a code.
When we got to the room and tried to log on to the hotel wi fi you again had to join the hotel loyalty scheme before being able to access the WiFi. Definitely not impressed.
The bed was on the small size for two us (and I am slim) and had just two flat pillows. We encountered one of the hotel staff on our way out and requested two additional pillows but these never materialised.
The television initially seemed to offer a number of channels but further investigation revealed most of them to be cable stations which could not be accessed. We were unable to find any sport or music channels.
It was impossible to get an undisturbed nights sleep as the air conditioning/heating vents would periodically make strange noises even though the heating/fan did not appear to be switched on in the room."
"Fantastic hotel in a great location. Comfy beds and pillows and helpful staff. We particularly enjoyed spending time in the bar in the evening and sampling the amazing cocktails. "
"At the time when we booked this hotel it had a pool available. Unfortunately they closed the pool (permanently) in the meantime! Otherwise we had a pleasant stay in a convenient location to explore the city."
