We stayed for 2 weeks using it as a base to visit museums in Heraklion and for visiting the south and east of the island. The hotel is in the centre of the city, ideal for sightseeing and restaurants, but in a very built up area.
Parking is at a premium in this area, with cars parked absolutely everywhere around the hotel. The hotel has a great arrangement with a valet parking lot, literally across the street from them which worked perfectly for us.
We stayed in a Business Room, Courtyard View which was very compact with just enough storage and the view from a tiny balcony was of another buildings wall a few metres away. If you would like somewhere to sit outside, then this room is not suitable and did detract from our otherwise lovely stay in this hotel. If staying for a couple of nights it would be appropriate, but if we were staying as long again, we would pay extra and take a larger room with a balcony at the front of the building.
The staff were amazing, so kind, friendly and helpful making us feel "at home" during our stay. They worked such long hours, but nothing was too much trouble. On the last night as we had stayed so long, they provided a lovely surprise gift which was so kind of them.
Breakfast was more than adequate with continual restocking of the buffet. There is also a small bar just off the reception area.
We enjoyed staying at this hotel and would use it again.
