A++++++ Resort!

This is by far the best resort I have ever stayed at. I will definitely be back again! Thank you to Fatima our butler and Ricardo our driver who went beyond and above for our stay. I love how the resort does not use plastic! If there was one complaint it would be to have a sign up system for pickleball so more people can participate. The food was great, the views, the app, shows, and most importantly the staff! This is a big resort!

JOIA Paraiso was just what we needed. Relaxing, quiet, clean and beautiful. We had an ocean front 2nd floor room with the butler service. Marianna and Gustavo were amazing. The made sure we had everything we needed. Spa service was outstanding. We will be back!

We liked our stay here. The pools, the property, and our rooms were clean. The staff are very friendly and nice. Two things that we were not thrilled about the drinking water and the dining options. They do not offer closed secure water bottles to drink, rather they recycle their own water and put it in glass bottles. That was the only option for drinking water (which tasted like tap water). We were there for our baby moon and I didn’t feel safe drinking the water at the property so we ended up going to a supermarket (30 minutes away) to get bottled water. The other thing we were not very happy about was the food option. The Mexican restaurant was closed for renovations for our whole stay. The Japanese and the steak house were good. However, the Italian was below average. The only option for breakfast and lunch was the buffet or room service.

The resort was amazing! If you can, shooting for the villa with the private pool! I can speak highly enough about the staff, especially the butler service! I liked having fun service, but the orders were never right. Not even once. I'm glad it wasn't an extra charge though, or I would have been upset. The food overall was pretty much bland everywhere we went, but the hibachi was good. The amenities, the service and the entertainment staff, though, I can't rave enough about! I wish I could have stayed longer. 5 nights was not enough... it's so big, there's too much!

Nice hotel, a few changes from our visit last year. buffet food is better, no more reservations for speciality restaurants except Japanese, some of the shows were in front of the lobby instead of the lobby garden area and they were better. For those interested there is a ramp to the beach that ends in a round wooden platform where a wheelchair can sit and there are chaise seating there as well. As always no towel cards. The butler's are very nice and attentive, without being overbearing, and get anything you request. All public areas are very clean as are all rest rooms. There is no plastic used at all and water is brought in refillable glass bottles, as are all toiletry items. A. nice addition is the star cafe coffee shop in the lobby for specialty or regular coffees and a snack. All in all a nice place to stay.

Everything was excellent. Ricardo who is the Bell captain. Is incredible, along with the others that work with him. The only thing I’ve noticed in the last few years of going there is the house wine is not nearly as good and others have noticed as well.

This is the nicest resort (in the Cancun area) that we've ever stayed in! We've been to 7 others (in Cancun) and this was beyond our expectations. First off, the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The artwork is Renaissance era, which I happen to love and the floors shine like glass. Our room and restroom were very spacious. The beach is the cleanest beach we've ever seen. They constantly pick up the seaweed throughout the day. The beach has a small rocky area that is unswimmable but to the left of the resort is a nice sized sandy beach. We always had a chair on the beach without having to "reserve" it early in the morning

As much as I hate giving this Resort only 4 stars, but after going there for over 7 years, we noticed that the rooms is a little shabby here is the negatives 1- the shower water is controlled, which makes you take a longer shower, and having a rain shower is useless 2- The Hot Tubs by the quiet pool is ice cold, which was a major disappointment this year, not sure if they trying to save money, but it totally angered yes. The other Hot Tubs are always crowded and that area is very noisy. That was not very nice Iberostar 3- The lines to have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Buffet is absolutely ridiculous, one time we waited 20 minutes. They need to develop a better system Because of the above we are considering other options next year. The staff is wonderful, no complains in this area

Beautiful property, but a bit over the top. Too flashy and overwhelming. Food was good, and the beach beautiful. Breakfast was incredible in a lovely setting.

5th trip, next one already booked!

We discovered this gem about 2 years ago and we continue to return (every time I have booked another resort, I have ended up cancelling and we go back to JOIA/Grand Paraiso, it’s a “sure thing”!) What makes us such big fans? -spectacular, over the top facilities and decor (beyond impressive lobby, marble everywhere, gorgeous finishings and fixtures, flowers, lush grounds…) -All restaurants are air conditioned, with a very high end atmosphere -exceptional food -top shelf liquor/masterfully prepared cocktails -friendly and welcoming staff that go above and beyond -we have not had problems getting into our desired restaurants -ample pool chairs with shade options, we have never had to get out early to “compete” for a spot (as is so often the case at other resorts) We previously were loyal guests at Excellence Playa Mujeres for over a decade (more than 20 trips) but JOIA has become our new “go to”. This resort is packed with repeat guests who have come to appreciate everything that makes this place so special. Looking forward to our return next month!
