Soak in steaming onsen baths with views of Mount Fuji's iconic snow-capped peak. Ride the Hakone Ropeway for breathtaking vistas of volcanic valleys and Lake Ashi's serene waters.
Excellent views of Mt Fuji from ropeway and the station at the top of the ropeway. There were many people doing the Hakone loop which took away from the overall experience. However, the system is efficient enough to handle the crowds without problem.

Though brief, Hakone was lovely. The Hakone Free pass is definitely worth it and gave us access to transportation, even to the Shinkansen station. We explored the ropeway and the lake area where the pirate cruises are.

A little less travelled that some of the other main Japan locations, it is a peaceful stop with enough attractions and views to do or just sit in an onsen and relax.

Gora was a gem! Loved the little town, the train ride up the mountain, the ropeway, cable car, and the Open Air Museum. Great little find!

This is our first time to Hakone and surprisingly their transportation is very convenient and easy. There are not much dining option in Hakone, but overall it is a great onsen experience if you are looking for quiet and relax private onsen stay.

The Hakone loops is worth doing. Took me 6 hours solo, with lunch at Hakone-Yumato. The Hakone free pass would be worth buying, covers all your transportation on ropeway, cable car, ship, and buses.

Definitely go to Hakone shrine if you can. The buses are a bit confusing at first but easy once you get used to them. Google maps is your friend.

Charming town but the main draw is the onsen experience. Ensure to get a hotel with onsen and half-board.

First visit - blown away by the amazing art museums, but we also got great views of Mt. Fuji
"The most beautiful spot. I will be back. The property was amazing, the views and location perfect for a long weekend away from theo stress and heat of the cities. "
"The room was spacious (family of 4 with 2 teenagers) and clean. The beds were big but a tiny bit hard. The breakfast buffet was excellent with extensive choices both Japanese and enough western food options for our picky family :). I enjoyed the Onsen a few times and the location was perfect, just a 3 minute walk from Gora Station with direct access to the Hokane-Tozan railway and Cable Car (to ropeway). I would recommend this to all my friends visiting this area in the future. "
"We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very well appointed and had everything we needed. There was even a private onsen off the shower room. The hotel was very accommodating with a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off. It was a great experience. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others."

"Great for families looking for some traditional serenity. Tucked away with ability to book private onsen. Yes as a base when exploring Hakone, but get ready to walk."
"Loved the private hot tub in the room. Hated that they didn't have room service or vending machines after the restaurant closed. We couldn't even get Uber Eats delivered; not much was open around the hotel."
