"Location is goo right near the train station and royal mile. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Breakfast was a good buffet spread but pretty expensive at 18 pounds per person. The elevators were down while we were there and we did see some questionable characters in the lobby at night, but for the elevator and stairs it required a room key. The door did close a bit slowly behind you when taking the stairs unless you pulled it shut. "

"Market hotel provided us we all we needed for a great stay in Edinburgh. Close proximity to all the sites of interest. The hotel is beautifully finished, with everything you need. Hairdryer, iron, coffee making facilities, fridge with fresh milk!! Free mini bar! Such a rarity, but so welcomed! Aircon was silent, bed so comfortable! Shower powerful and the soap, shampoo, conditioner and body cream wonderfully smelling! Food and drinks were amazing! Complimentary champagne at breakfast! That added a show of luxury to make our stay that little bit more special. Staff were so friendly! Professional and knowledgeable, they made our stay so special. Thank you in particular to Edward, David and Sneal in the Nor Loft, for making our stay so enjoyable. "

"Very cool building and great location. The room we stayed in was just OK. It was fine which I don't have a problem with but the interior hallways were disgusting. Everything was stained, doors and handles were dirty, windows were not clean and there was only one working elevator for a fairly large hotel so it took forever. "
