Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls
8/10 Good
"We had an amazing view of the falls. Most Staff seemed slightly rude, a few were helpful, the bell hop at least. It was a little strange to not have a microwave in the room. Coffee was amazing.. I would have expected a little better maintenance for the amount we paid."
"The hotel was great, very comfortable beds and pillows. Good location and excellent views of Horseshoe fall. The staff was very accommodating we were able to get a bedroom in the morning after a long trip red eye flight from west coast."
"It’s a alright hotel but for the price you can get a lot better. Having the best address in the city doesn’t makes them the prestige or nicer hotel, it need execution for it. Walked in to my tower suite with a half side was blasted with heat on and other side with AC, one window doesn’t even have a curtain on upon calling them, they sent maintenance and they couldn’t fix and all they did after 30 mins change me to different room which was even worst and collected dust for sometime. AC wasn’t working in this room aswell, I didn’t check because I was rushing for work then came back at 4 am realizing no AC. I wouldn’t be back here. They don’t even have courtesy to fix it when told instead just got that hotel is fully sold out. Well not my problem!"
"We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the towels were good quality, and the view was absolutely amazing. Everything felt clean, welcoming, and well cared for.
The breakfast was good and offered a nice variety of options to start the day.
The only suggestion for improvement would be to provide complimentary regular drinking water rather than only offering bottled water for purchase. Also, parking was quite expensive. However, it appears that most hotels in the area charge daily parking fees, although it still feels a bit excessive for hotel guests.
Overall, these were minor concerns compared to the quality of our stay. The excellent room, cleanliness, comfort, and spectacular views made for a wonderful experience. We would definitely stay here again."
"The staff were very friendly and rooms were fairly clean but I did have a few issues during my stay.
1. The "high speed internet" was barely functional in my room offering 1 bar of service if i was lucky 2 and constantly disconnecting due to poor connection quality. Specifically booked to be near where i would be writting a test after my stay but could barely study with the connection issues.
2. For my checkout date i needed to leave early so i asked to schedule a wake up call for 6:30 am. I woke up to my own alarm at 6.25 and never received a call.
A few other small things here and there, overall was an ok experience but definitely could have been a lot better."
"Nice hotel. The suites are generously sized and comfortable. Two small issues… windows are not sound proofed and despite being 13 floors up, we could hear traffic noise (esp emergency vehicle sirens - and NB there is a hospital nearby). Other issue is room cleaning. It is every second day. We stayed 6 nights, room was due to just be cleaned twice… but had to ask the first time for the room to be cleaned. When I called reception at 4pm to ask when it would be cleaned the duty manager was abrupt and unhelpful. Because of the infrequent room cleaning we had to buy shampoo and coffee pods. Nice place, but at almost €300 per nights I’d expect better service."
"This is a beautiful Hotel, perfectly located whit a parking garage just across the street.
The staff was amazing, very respectful and attentive. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully quiet.
The buffet breakfast was great. Variety of foods and everything was delicious and great service at the restaurant."
