Visiting granddaughter who resides in Tempe for college. Many shops, bistros, and fun restaurants with great menus and the food did not disappoint. Tempe seems to have everything needed for city living, and I found it an interesting destination.

University town, catering to ASU students, faculty, and visitors, with great (kind of weather proof) campus (shaded areas, covered walk ways), interesting architecture, theater, museum.

A college town with Tempe Town Lake as an amenity. Convenient to the airport, although Tempe is right in the flight path for the busy airport, although this is not a problem for the hotel. Many restaurants are geared toward the college crowd.

I love Tempe, always can find many bars or restaurants as you would expect located so close to the college. Many options for activities are also in the local area..

Definitely a college town - we were present for some sporting events but nothing got crazy or rowdy. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and Tempe Lake.
