We have stayed in the area before and other hotels, unfortunately the area is not the best or I should say doesn't seem the safest. This trip as well as other times, we noticed suspicious people on the corners and walking about late at night.

The area, Merrillville, IN is has no problems to stay. Plenty of hotels, shopping and dining options. However, we will definitely not come back to Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Merrillville, IN.
