"Great place and so close to the sand dunes! I will def be back here! The rooms have little sitting areas outside which I loved ! There’s hummingbird feeders and little hummingbirds flying all around! We got there later after the restaurant nearby had closed, but the hotel has frozen pizza you can buy and cook there so we did that! The lady in the office was very nice and friendly and when she heard we were leaving super early she gave us some things for breakfast, I wanted to give them a 5. But when I went to bed, literally under my pillow was a big piece of chewed up dog rawhide, it may have been stuck on the pillow case but it did make me question if they change all the bedding?? There was also a knocking sound in the bathroom, it would knock about once an hour, prob piles or something but it did keep us awake. "

"My spouse is 80 years old and had both of her knees redone. We had to climb three flights of stairs and it was not easy. I understand that the elevator was broken and not the staff’s fault. Because of this we will never stay at a holiday express again"

"The stay was great. Have been staying at the Lodge Motel for years. However, this year I had to make a reservation online instead of by phone as I have in the past. So, in trying to make a reservation directly with the lodge motel I was misled to believe the Hotels.com was the correct reservation procedure and was transferred to their website. Come to find out that that was incorrect. I was told by the Lodge Motel Manager that I could have made the reservation directly with them and he showed me how. Ok, so I ended up booking with hotels.com. During the booking procedure I was not allowed to use my military discount that I have been afforded for years at the Lodge Motel. Being retired military, every little discount helps. I am extremely unhappy with Hotels.com and do not plan to use them in the future. "

"The staff was nice but the hotel needs to be renovated. Our bathroom was in poor condition and the toilet was not clean . The breakfast was ok ."
