Kings Head
10/10 Excellent
"Great hotel. Lovely room with lots of little touches — and plus points for having decent sized mugs for tea instead of piddly little cups. The breakfast cooked to order was very good on all 3 days and the restaurant meal very good. Parking is a bit of a chore but manageable. Staff all very pleasant "
"Before booking, we read the description of the hotel and the reviews and looked at the location on Google Maps. When we arrived, we found that the hotel and room were exactly what we thought we'd get -- a quiet, very clean, and thoughtfully designed space in a location that allowed for a cheaper price. It's a pleasant and easy (assuming health and ability) 15-minute stroll into town. There's plenty of safe parking. The communal kitchen is a brilliant addition, though we didn't use it on this occasion. Everything felt fresh and clean.
Some reviewers have complained about the cold taps in the bathroom, but we had both hot and cold taps, seemingly new. Some have complained about the cold bathrooms, but we had a bathroom heater that could be set for up to four hours and warmed the space nicely. Some reviewers commented that not having a reception desk felt a bit weird, but we've stayed at places like this in other countries when travelling and were perfectly happy with the arrangement. When I asked a question by email, even late in the evening, I got a reply very quickly.
We were very happy with our stay and would easily stay there again. "

"We stayed in room 5 on the first floor for 2 nights.
Pros: great location for visiting the Cotswolds. Stow is a lovely place and the pub is very welcoming. Our room was large and the bed very comfortable and clean.
Cons: we could hear the neighbours walking across the floor upstairs late at night. We could also hear them flushing their loo and using the shower.
The walls up the stairs to the rooms were very marked and need a good paint refresh. The worst thing for me was the issue with carpet moth, both on the stairs landing and also in the room behind the desk under the tv. It’s so apparent that it’s like an infestation and needs serious pest control attention. It affected my stay as it made the place feel dirty. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning. It is very overpriced for what you get.
