"Pros- the property is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and gorgeous. Breakfast is delicious. Staff is reasonably friendly.
Cons- we paid $200 US extra for wristbands to be in the park. This is required with the stay.We were told if they asked at the gate, we could need another wristband per day. Aftet 2 days they dated our wristband. We decided to leave 2 days earlier instead of paying again. You NEED a car or scooter rental. The property is very far from everythimg, the walk to the gate is a long distance and taxi is expensive.
We receievd very little information about the park or what the wristband offered. Whem we asked aboit the electirc shuttle, we were told some drivers might let us on them.
There us lots and lots of sargasm, the beach was not usable.
The rooms face each other with lots of windows, there is not much privacy. Lots of kids running around, throwing sand during dinner.
We slept comfortably and ate well but left early.
Do not stay on the lower level of the 2 level. It is very loud from above. "
"I was Beyond disappointed. Rooms smelled like a tiki torch fuel. You cant flush toilet paper and are asked to leave it in the trash in the room for 24 hrs. the beach was dirty and unclean. I asked for a refund and they didn't honor it or give me credit to one of their alternate properties Very poorly managed"
"This place is all aesthetic illusion and zero substance. The beachfront location and kind staff are the only things keeping it from being a complete write-off.
The rooftop pools—one of the main booking draws have been stripped of their appeal. They’re now covered by a solar awning, blocking nearly all sunlight. A rooftop pool with no sun is a design failure. You also can’t order food or drinks up there, making the space feel pointless. Worse, it’s in rough shape—cracked, broken wood slats and a noticeable wobble underfoot make it feel neglected and borderline unsafe.
The restroom and changing area are embarrassing. Think rundown dive bar, not boutique hotel. One door was hanging off its hinge, the other didn’t lock.
Cleanliness was also an issue. The pools and hot tubs were visibly dirty, which is unacceptable at this price point.
The “$100 room credit” is misleading. It only applies to alcohol and only at a restaurant that closes before dinner hours, making it nearly useless.
The staff does their best—they’re the only bright spot. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were consistently disappointing.
This place sells a polished fantasy online but fails to deliver in reality. Spend your money elsewhere"
"Amazing hotel with a private cenote, a little piece of paradise away from the busy street. Very serene place to enjoy a great DJ during the day, reading by the cenote, enjoying good (however pricey) food and drinks.
The low point… we lamented being given a premium room with a view on abandoned structures that ruined the experience. Tried to change our room but the hotel management was totally deaf to our request, and only offered to upgrade us at a cost $65/night when we were already paying in excess of $300… so they left us with a very mixed feeling…."
