Not the worst, not the best

The lady at the front desk was extremely pleasant. My complaint is more about the room. All other areas in the hotel were clean and orderly. We do have dogs (dachshunds) and that’s a 20$ charge for each. That’s way affordable compared to other places. The room was the first floor and that too was nice when traveling with dogs. Upon entering our room it had a smell of urine. Possibly other dogs but it had me questioning the cleanliness. My suspicions were confirmed when I found a men’s sock in the floor at the edge of the bed. There were sunflower seed husks as well. The hair dryer was missing. It was extremely humid in the room to the point that the carpet felt wet. The mattress was sooo hard that I kept waking up with my hips killing me. I only slept a couple of hours bc of the discomfort. Breakfast is included. We woke just as it started and the food was non existent. I ended up getting cereal and a yogurt but there were no spoons. I asked the front desk and the response was that they were out of spoons. I ate both with a fork. Again, could’ve ended up alot worse and the room condition could’ve just been bad luck. There’s also a 20$ parking charge that was a surprise as I didn’t see it in the hotel details.

Nice rooms

Really nice little hotel. If you’re a smoker tho no one cleans the ash trays out. The breakfast coffee machine was also broken. They do have little coffee pots in the room but only give you the little round prepackaged good for one cup coffee grinds. But a small can and small filters. Full size fridge was nice but it only held our creamer. The separation of beds by rooms was nice.

First time in KC - watching the big game. Very quick to check in when we got in at 2am. Nice spacious room and a very good price on a busy weekend. Good location too. Not fancy but we’re not fancy until we get to the Super Bowl then we’ll strut our stuff.

Good for the Price…

Two spaces in room were about 15 degrees different temperatures. Open piping in shower was odd. Room faintly smelled of smoke. People were very nice. Parking is $20 per night and sometimes there wasn’t even enough room in their parking lot so we had to park in a different lot farther away. It’s very affordable, so we just rolled with it.

probably not staying again

So I usually do not write in reviews, so this is what I want people to know. Upon getting there, there is NO HANDICAPPED way to get in the building to check in, I didn't need one, but some people do, so I wanted to mention it! There is a handicapped way in AFTER you check in the building and walk up the flight of stairs. This is an old apartment building not a regular hotel. It does have an elevator. Our room looked like a 1bedroom apt. bathroom on one side with a bed, bed on the other side with a small kitchen NO PLATES or way to eat. Just a fridge, 2 small burner stove and microwave. This is the kicker IT IS 20.00 EXTRA DOLLARS A NIGHT TO PARK, OR YOU WILL GET TOWED! This is not a nice part of town, homeless outside every night we stayed (4) there is a sign inside the room door saying for your protection lock and deadbolt the door when inside. So traveling with my high school son, I did not feel the safest. Breakfast was sausage patty/eggs and biscuits and gravy. Beds were not that comfortable and I could not figure out how to turn the heat up. Bathroom is very small, not handicapped accessible. The shower curtain did not go down to the floor so the floor flooded when you took a shower. There was also no hairdryer in the bathroom. Glad the trip was over, some anxiety having to return after work in the dark, in that area. I will drive farther next time for a better location and free parking. Parking cost us 80.00 more
