The room was fantastic .Lovely two bedrooms with comfy beds. Big kitchen and spacious living room with flat screen TV. The only one thing that may disturb our sleep is noisy floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again.

Close to everything. Despite being close to ongoing tram line construction we did not experience any noise issues. Our 1 bed apartment overlooked the garden and was away from the hustle and bustle. Would stay agsin.

Really nice, welll appointed appartment. Helpful reception staff. Small but adequate gym, laundry facilities and as an added bonus has access to the locked Queen Street gardens. Will be back

This hotel was a short walk to all the must-see sights. Our rooms were spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. My husband and I stayed here for a few nights and had a great stay. The location is perfect- just a few minutes walk to Princess street which has all the big shops and George street which is full of bars and clubs. Also only a 10 minute walk to the Waverley train station and about 15 minutes walk to Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile. Apartment was big, […] bright and clean, we loved the bed. Only downside to this place is the poor window insulation and construction going on outside. The construction woke us up at 7am, the whole street is undergoing major road work. Also, I was woken up every single night by drunk people. On Friday night, I was woken up at 2am, 230 and again at 330. Saturday night I was woken up twice, 230am and close to 4am. It was terrible. There is a 24 hour casino close to this hotel and plus the window insulation is terrible, you can hear ever noise outside. We have stayed at Blue Rainbow Apartments in both Edinburgh and Manchester many times before... The last few times we have stayed in Edinburgh we have noticed that the apartments have gone down hill especially their cleanliness. I understand that they have a New management team in place and that they are trying to raise the standards by redecorating […] the apartments to make them more modern and to also tackle the issue of cleanliness .. Just not fully tackled yet! Our apartment was comfortable, small and cosy on a Cold Scottish weekend but we had to ask reception to clean the toilet and Hoover the lounge area as this had no been done at all. We alo noticed that he fridge and kitchen cupboards could also have been doing with a good clean ... I really enjoyed my stay here and found all the staff friendly and chatty. The "rooms" are bigger than my flat and have all the kit required for self-catering. Great place to stay - so much space in the apartment and fully equipped. Nice touch with the breakfast items; bread, cereal, milk, Orange juice etc. Had a room at the rear of the hotel so lovely view of the gardens. Apart from the unbelievably creaky floorboards i was very impressed. Some decorating in one of the bathrooms wouldn't go amiss, but that's just me trying to find a fault. We basically got a 2 bed 2 bath flat in a very nice area of central edinburgh for the price of a single travel lodge room. It was great having two complete bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the kitchen so we did not have to eat all of our meals out. The staff was excellent, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Kitchen was adequately appointed for our stay--they had nicely stocked the fridge with a few basics so that we did not need to immediately shop upon our arrival. We would suggest that they put some basic cleaning supplies and paper towels in the kitchen (e.g. windex or cleaning fluid). Location was great--across the street from the recently renovated Portrait Museum. There is major road work in the area as they build a citywide tram system---we were not bothered by the noise, but we were out of the apartment most of the day. The Apartment was very convenient for the City Center. Parking is an issue in Edinburgh all together, the road works creates issues as you have to walk to the Hotel.

Loved the Hotel. Staff were excellent, room was exceptional. Convenience and accessibility to the Fringe Festival and Edinburgh Castle was great. Only negatives were that there is no parking (mall lot is 5 Minute walk), also due to road construction access to the Hotel is limited and even using GPS you cannot get to the front door.

Very spacious apt, clean and most essentials supplied. Boiler was not working properly, meaning no hot water, and took 2 days to move me to another apt though.

Apartment described as executive was far from it - hadn't been cleaned properly - dust in kitchen and in bathroom, kitchen smelt of burn't food, had paint chipped off window frames, units in the kitchen were extremely tatty, holes in the plaster, big scuff marks all over the walls - very noisy floorboards and even 1 floorboard that was sunken that could […] easily be tripped over.Was also annoying to be told having already booked and paid for room - if you don't sign our conditions (eg if you damage the curtains it will cost you £1,200 yes £1,200!) you can't stay here. Also signs everywhere that smoking is banned - lo and behold builders set off the fire alarms by smoking by leaning out of the window. £50 fine if you steal our teatowels - however none actually provided in the room. Great location. Large comfortable rooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Much nicer experience than the usual 'corporate' hotel. Only drawback is lack of car parking in the UK's most car-unfriendly city.

The location of the Blue Rainbow Apartments was a perfect location for either walking or getting a bus around the city of Edinburgh- we have 2 young children and the both coped with walking up to the castle & National Museum. On arrival, the apartment was clean & well dressed. The bedrooms were a good size and linen/towels were in very good condition. […] The kitchen was well presented and equipped. There is a supermarket within a 5 min walk so groceries are easy to get. However, some of the furniture was a little tired, as was the painted woodwork. The staff were very helpful and polite whenever we spoke to them. We were initially concerned about the road noise(It's a busy road & we were at the front) - as our children are not used to it, but after the first afternoon we didn't notice it & the children slept well every night. The window locks weren't good and the door to the apartment would benefit from a chain or bar lock as our 3 year old discovered within minutes she could open the door by pulling down the handle even when it was locked, so children would need to be told not to open windows or doors-like ours were. Great location - close to Princes Street and walking distance to all main attractions. Good facilities for the price. Friendly and helpful staff. The only complaint is that the details say parking at the nearest NCP is £10 per day when in fact it is £20 per day.

Location of the hotel is excellent - 10 minutes walk from the center of the city. Parking does not exist. You have to park about 1/2 mile down the street. The hotel gives you 10% off the rate, but be warned it is around $30 per day with the discount. We were in the last room on the top floor. The floors were EXTREMELY creaky. You could not move around […] the rooms without making a lot of noise, usually waking everyone up. The room was not serviced the entire time we were there (3 days) - we had to call down for toilet paper, clean towels and even a blanket to sleep on the couch as the portable bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on (the couch was extremely comfortable though). The staff were very responsive to our requests and usually they had the requested items to the room in minutes. I was not happy at the check-in as, due to the fact that my credit card does not have "chip and PIN" like most European cards, they had to make an email request to the head office in Manchester to get approval to accept my card (I prepaid by the way, so this was only for incidentals). I was wondering what would have happened if head office had said no!!!! The heater in the bathroom was stuck on - it was always 100 degrees in there. The heating in the rooms was difficult to control - the bedroom was cold, the living room was warm Internet access is expensive like most places in Europe and the UK - 15 pounds per 24 hours ( around $25). 阅读更多信息

It was a very comfortable hotel and is close to sights, but Edinburgh is not easy to walk with all the hills. Which is not the hotels fault, obviously. It was nice to have a kitchenette and the staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the bus station and a shopping mall as well. Overall a very good experience.

Clean and large. Good water pressure. Bonus cereal, juice, etc (our milk was missing though). Friendly staff. Decent location.... with great places to eat 2 blocks away down Queens Street. Hard to find initially. Parking at the nearby parking deck is expensive. Mattress was a little tired... but other than that a nice place to stay.

The photos I had seen and reviews I had read, lead me to believe that we would be experiencing some real luxury. Whilst we very much enjoyed our stay, there were some disappointments. We had booked the "premium penthouse", and the view was certainly fantastic. However there were let downs in the rooms - the bin in the kitchen was filthy when we changed […] the bin bag - lots of dirt and rubbish left by previous occupants. None of the clocks in the house were set on our arrival. Both the kitchen and lounge clocks had dead batteries,and we had to set the bedroom clocks ourselves. I was disappointed that the bedrooms didn't offer a TV. No oven gloves, hardly any cooking utensils - i've stayed in many self catering apartments and this was easily the poorest for resources. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a deal breaker, but it's also not "premium". Nor was the service from the girl when we checked out - not a single word of greeting, not a question to ask if we had enjoyed our stay, not a goodbye. However the service from the other girl on reception (English, student, sorry I didn't get her name) was exemplary - I would employ her! So all in all, disappointingly non-luxurious, but the location made up for it, and we would use it again - however our expectations would be slightly lower. 阅读更多信息

An amazing stay. Was pleasantly upgraded to their penthouse, which has superb views. Nothin was trouble at all. Everything was in spotless condition. The customer service desk -- particularly Stewart -- provided great service, advice and was prompt for any requests. Their welcome bag was a wonderful touch too.

My husband at I stayed for 3 nights in the Blue Rainbow apartments at the end of November 2011. We had a really lovely stay, and would definitely recommend the apartments to others. We stayed in a Premium apartment, and thought it was an excellent standard. On arrival we were shown to our room, but having requested a quiet room we were actually looking […] out over the main road (which is quite busy). We asked the management if they could change this, and after an hour or so they moved us to Floor 5 (apartment 526...definitely recommend!) which was much quieter (overlooking the garden) and more spacious than the previous 4th floor apartment. High points: lots of space, kitchen was great for cooking a simple meal, bed was comfy, TV was huge, quiet, clean, warm, close to shops/restaurants/cafes/pubs/attractions, Sainsburys local round the corner. Brilliant location- close to Princes Street- we got an upgrade to a superior apartment for no particular reason- very spacious- breakfast was left on the worktop (we didn't expect this)- like coffee/tea sachets- packets of cereal- milk in the fridge- orange juice- large TV- internet access-lovely dining table all set out with dishes, cutlery, glasses, […] etc- two comfy settees-all kitchen utensils-microwave-dishwasher-oven-the bedroom was lovely-chocolates on arrival-plastic rose was a bit naff- super thick fluffy towels- white bathrobes-everything you might need in the bathroom-the bed was comfy and you could easily adjust the heating controls in the lobby-the view from the windows was lovely-gardens on one side and the national portrait gallery on the other side- shame we were only staying one night- much better than staying in a hotel- very clean and comfortable- friendly staff- very obliging- let us leave our bag after we checked out- highly recommended and all for a very reasonable price- close to the bus station too. 阅读更多信息

Our stay in the Blue Rainbow apartments was excellent. The receptionist was extremely couteous and helpful, the accomodation was clean and near the centre of the city. We are planning another weekend stay with friends and will book in again this time in a 2 bedroom apartment.

I had the good fortune of finding this at an amazing rate. Would normally be outside my budget. I was very impressed witht the standard of accommodation and this has been my most comfortable stay in Edinburgh ever which includes many 4* hotels. Very pleasant staff and warm welcome.
