"Location was everything for us, just a 5 minute walk to Ninezaka area filled with beautiful streets. Kiyomizu-dera and other temples/ shrines super close by. Only a 15 minute drive to train station and Nishiki Market. Was such a good spot to stay while getting out of Tokyo for a few days. "

"This was my favorite of all of the hotels we stayed at in Japan. The neighborhood is really neat and easy to navigate, with a lot of great little shops and restaurants. There is a nightlife around as well, but the bars and clubs are very good at keeping the noise contained so the neighborhood is respectably quiet. Everyone in Gion is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and modern, and the space of the rooms was really nice. If we come back to Kyoto we would stay at this same hotel again and...

"We loved our stay at Hotel Alza Kyoto. The staff was polite and kind, and helped forward our luggage to our hotel in Tokyo (for a fee). The room was spacious, clean, and the quietest we'd ever stayed in.
